36 and 37 - It's getting closer!

How far along? 37 weeks
Total weight gain: 30
Maternity clothes? All the time.  And lots of yoga pants!
Stretch marks? I think I am imagining them sometimes.  But I am sure some will sneak up on me and I will see them after the baby is born.
Sleep: I've pretty much given up on sleep these days :(  I'm either up a couple times a night to pee or because I am having leg cramps.  I know sleep really isn't in my future anyway since we are about to have a newborn.
Best moment this week: Cooler weather!! I am loving that we are no longer in the 90s! I got to enjoy a delicious deacf Pumpkin Spice Latte the other day!
Miss Anything? A pumpkin beer!
Movement: ALL the time.  He is a very strong little boy!  I am still feeling him up in my ribs, I don't think he has figured out which way to go yet.
Food cravings: SWEETS!! Everything chocolate has my name on it.
Belly Button in or out? Oh it's out there, well at least on one side...
Wedding rings on or off? I still wear my wedding band because it's just a little bit bigger than my engagement ring.  But I am too nervous to wear my engagement ring because I don't think I could get it off!
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy for the most part, but I have noticed a couple crazy mood swings (Sorry everyone!)
Looking forward to: Final preparations for our little guy! And football season!! Go Colts (and I guess Bengals since we are in Cincy!)

5 year Celebration

Back on 8/28 Ben and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary.  I'm not going to lie, I always envisioned going on our "second honeymoon" for our 5 year, but being 35 weeks pregnant doesn't really allow that to happen. So we planned a semi-local weekend to Lexington.  Grandma and Grandpa Hale kept Lucas for us for the weekend.  So whereas it wasn't what I thought it would be, it was a perfect weekend getaway. Happy 5 years Ben, I love you more and more everyday :)

We went to the Buffalo Trace Distillery for a tour.  It was nice , they make their own root beer for non-alcoholic customers!

Stopping at a little whole-in-the-wall sandwich restaurant that Ben has been to before.  It was yummy!
What else are you supposed to do while in Lexington?  Off to the horse races at the Red Mile.

Wedding in Louisville

A couple weeks ago, we headed down to Louisville to Ben's cousin Nick's wedding.  It's always nice to get to spend time with everyone.  Lucas of course was hamming it up on the dance floor!

busting a move with Daddy and Gram

Uncle Tim and Auntie sure are fun to dance with!

Adventures of a Big Boy Bed

About 2 weeks ago we evicted Lucas from his crib! There is no way I wanted to buy another crib for baby #2, so we figured it was about time.  Not to mention he was just starting to figure it out that there might be a way for him to climb out.

Last shot of my little guy in his crib! (a little bitter sweet)

We have a bed frame, but to start off we thought we would just put it directly on the floor in case he falls out.  We have also but his crib mattress next to the bed to help with that too.  Lucas is a crazy sleeper (apparently he gets it from his Mommy) so we knew it might be challenging.  I don't want to put one of the rails on the bed, because I don't really want him to get used to it and then have to worry about taking it away at some point.

The first night we put him in the bed was a little rough.  He woke up crying at about 1am, 3am and 5:30am (I guess he is trying to get us ready for a newborn again!).  At 5:30am I tried to go into his room and lay on the crib mattress by the bed in hopes to get a couple more hours of sleep.  This didn't really work and we were up by 6:30am :(

Night #2 was also a tab rough when I woke up at 2:30am to the sound of his rocking horse playing songs! When I went into his room to find him riding the rocking horse, he just looked at me and said "horsey time?"  Luckily he went back to bed with no real complaints.  When I woke up for work that morning.  I found that the poor guy had rolled off his bed, off his crib mattress and kinda far across the floor.  But hey - he was sleeping!

Since then, we have had it pretty smooth sailing (YAY!).  He seems to love the idea of his big boy and the fact that there are dump truck sheets :)

Here you can see where he rolled off to the crib mattress.  Sometimes looking on the monitor is a game of seek and find to see where he is!

Or sometimes he likes to sleep sideways and almost off the bed :)

All in all we are very proud of our big guy!

34 and 35 weeks

How far along? 35 weeks
Total weight gain: 25
Maternity clothes? They are pretty much all I wear, unless I steal something from Ben :)
Stretch marks? I think I am imagining them sometimes.  But I am sure some will sneak up on me and I will see them after the baby is born.
Sleep: Sleeping has gotten really uncomfortable.  I wake up many times during the night whether it's from some random stretching pain or because I have to pee :( Not to mention the heat here has been out of control! Even with the air and fan on, I am still pretty hot.
Best moment this week: BIG BOY BED! Lucas is out of his crib.  We finally went and got him his mattress set.  Right now it's just the mattress and box spring on the floor so he's not too high up.  The first 2 nights were a little rough, but we are doing pretty well now!  Also - Ben and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary with a nice weekend getaway!
Miss Anything? Good sleep.  I would kill for a full night of sleep without interruption these days.
Movement: ALL the time.  I can tell he is getting bigger and already running out of room.  Now when he turns over my whole stomach moves!
Food cravings: SWEETS!! Anything with sugar has great, especially ice cream in this heat :)
Looking forward to:  Cooler weather.  Fall is right around the corner and that means time for pumpkin everything!!!
