13 & 14 Weeks

So I have told myself always that whatever I do for my first child, I want to do for all of them. I always hear how after the first, no one has time to do all of the things they once did.  Living through that now, I completely understand why, but I am still going to try my hardest to do all.  Things might not turn out as well, but it's the attempt that counts, right?

Let the weekly post begin :

How far along? 13 weeks
Total weight gain: 0!! For now!
Maternity clothes? Yes L I can’t wear any of my pants except for a pair of stretchy jeans and yoga pants.  I know people say that you start to show a lot quicker with your second, but I didn’t think it would be this soon.
Stretch marks? Not yet.
Sleep: I want to nap all of the time.  I have been waking up in the middle of the night.  I’m not sure if it’s because of the pregnancy or because I think I hear Lucas in his room?
Best moment this week:  We have a doctor appointment, so we should hear the little one’s heartbeat again.  It was also Easter so we got to spend time with both sides of our family.  Lucas loves the Easter bunny and Egg Hunts!
Miss Anything?  A beer would have been nice for National Beer Day.
Movement: Nothing yet.
Food cravings: Nothing at the moment.
Have you started to show yet: Sure have
Belly Button in or out? in, hopefully forever
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy :)
Looking forward to:  Nicer weather and hopefully more energy.

How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain: 0!! For now, even though that’s not how it looks
Maternity clothes? I am wearing maternity jeans (which I’m really not a fan of) and lots of black yoga pants.
Stretch marks? Not yet.
Sleep: Still pretty sleepy, but more sunshine seems to be helping.
Best moment this week:  Starting my 2nd trimester!
Miss Anything?  Advil.  I have had some headaches this week and Tylenol just doesn’t cut it.
Movement: Feeling a little bit of poking already.
Food cravings: Nothing at the moment.
Have you started to show yet: No going back now!
Belly Button in or out? in, hopefully forever
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy :)
Looking forward to: More movement from the little one.  I am really interested in how Lucas will react if/when he can feel it.

I will add that taking these pictures with Lucas is not the easiest in the world.  But I want him to be a part of everything from the beginning.  He has an important job coming up: BIG BROTHER!

Hoppy Easter

Lucas was really into Easter this year!  He was excited to see the "Big Rabbit".  We just went to our local candy store, Esher Price, which I love because it originated in Dayton to see the Easter Bunny and get some last minute basket treats!

On Saturday, Ben's old boy scout leader invited us to his house for an Easter Egg hunt! It was perfect.  There were a small group of kids (neighbors and relatives) and tons of eggs that everyone brought.  Cousins, Sarah, Josh and Samantha were there.  Lucas had a blast and really go in to finding the eggs.

On Sunday we were super busy as usual.  Mass at St. Max at 8AM, then straight up to Dayton to my parent's house.  My grandparents, aunt, cousin and brother came over for a yummy brunch.  The Easter Bunny stopped at their house too for Lucas.  Then we came home for a short nap and headed down to Ben's parent's house for dinner.  Ben's grandparents on the Hale side and his Aunt Deb came up from Louisville for dinner.  It is always a treat to see them.  Lucas is starting to remember his "Gram and Gramps!" and get's excited when we tell him he will see them.

Hope everyone had a great Easter and was able to celebrate with some loved ones :)

Lucas turns 2!

I can't believe our little guy is 2 already.  Everyone tells you how fast your kids grow up, but I honestly didn't think it would be this fast.  Lucas has kept us on our toes for the past 2 years.  We are so proud of the little boy that he is becoming.  He continues to learn new things and explore every day :)  We love this little boy!

Here are some highlights from his party:
Mommy made an elephant cake
Auntie K made some panda bear cupcakes

Thanks so much for everyone that came to party and everyone that couldn't be here that sent their love!

Baby Hale - Round 2!

Lucas is very excited to meet his new sidekick who is expected to arrive October 2015!

I know a lot of  friends that are pregnant right now which is always exciting.  I love sharing and hearing others stories along the way.  Can't wait to see all these cute babies in 2015!

Everyone keeps say "I hope you have a little girl in there".  But honestly, I don't care either way.  I have gotten used to being a boy's mom and I know more about construction equipment than I ever thought I would. I feel like I'm finally getting the hang of it, so I would love another little boy.  Of course I would be so happy to have a little girl to spoil as well.  Only time will tell.  I'm hoping that we should find out Mid-May!

Making it through the Winter

We had an awesome day in February that we had to take advantage of the sunshine!  So we went to the park that is by our house.  Lucas had some much fun climbing on the jungle gym and swinging.

He even braved the tall slide (with some help from daddy!)
Little man loves reading.  He is becoming more and more independent everyday.  He now occasionally likes to read by himself.
So much fun to play in a box!
We got hit with quite a bit of snow in February.  I didn't think Lucas was going to get to play in the snow this Winter, but Mother Nature had other plans.
First time sledding! We went to Keehner Park and had a blast! This guy loves the white snow.

Eating an avocado is so much more fun when you can eat it straight from the skin.
Mommy's favorite Target buddy!  Don't worry - it's not coffee!

Happy Valentine's Day

This year, I decided to make my own Valentine's Day studio!  All I needed was a white sheet, construction paper hearts, my new DIY white board and one cute toddler!

I draped the sheet over our entertainment center and decorated it.

Here's the winning photo that was sent to everyone!  Happy Valentine's Day from Lucas :)

DIY Cute White Board

So I have been really wanting a white board to put up in our office, but I didn't want something ugly.  So I went on a search to find a prettier version.  Needless to say I was unsuccessful.  Well the other day, I noticed that I have this picture frame that I still haven't hung up (so clearly it's never going to happen) and it hit.  I will just make my own!

The old picture frame

I went to Lowes and bought a piece of white board to put in it.  Click here to see what I bought. I came home, measured it out and asked my husband to cut it for me! I put in in the frame in place of the glass and there you go - a new white board!

It was a productive Wednesday :)
