Happy 4th of July

We spent the 4th of July with the Hale side of the family.  Ben's Aunt Roseanna and Uncle Robert invited everyone over for some dinner and to watch the fireworks.  It was really nice since we haven't seen them in a long time.  Ben's Aunt Deb even got to come up from Louisville and brought Ben's grandparents too!  It was the first time we were able to celebrate the 4th with them :)

The boys sure do love playing with their Uncle Robert!
Poor Uncle Robert got quite the workout playing with Sarah, Josh and Lucas all night!  But they sure had fun.

Time for some sparklers and fireworks!
Lucas' first time with a sparkler.  I of course was a nervous Nelly, but he handled it very well. No one got burnt :)

Perfect view of the Fairfield fireworks right from their front yard, how perfect :)
Happy 4th of July to all of our friends and family from the Hales!

THIRD TRIMESTER!

Per my new usual, I am once again behind.  Everyone told me that it would be a lot harder the second time around but for some reason I didn't believe them.  I do however have a strong passion for keeping committed to baby #2!

 Love note from Big Brother!
 Happy 4th of July!!

It's hard to believe that my third trimester is here already.  It really does seem like yesterday that Ben and I were even talking about the thought of having another baby and now in 12 short weeks we will officially be a family of 4! I can't wait to have another little baby around, but right now I can't help but feel like I'm abandoning Lucas.  I find myself rocking him to sleep more than he really needs just so I can cherish the time with him.  I know in my heart that he will love having a little brother (at least one day!) but I just don't ever want him to be sad that he has to share his mommy and daddy.

How far along? 28 weeks
Total weight gain: 20ish
Maternity clothes? They are pretty much all I wear.
Stretch marks? I think I am imagining them sometimes.  But I am sure some will sneak up on me and I will see them after the baby is born.
Sleep: I WANT to sleep all the time, but my body doesn’t always seem to get the memo.  Plus overnight bathroom breaks are starting up.
Best moment this week:  Entering the 3rd trimester! 2 down, 1 to go!  We got to spend the 4th of July with Ben’s family too which was a nice treat.
Miss Anything? Nothing crazy this week.
Movement: ALL the time.  He seems to be a very strong little guy already.
Food cravings: Nothing in particular this week.
Belly Button in or out? I think I need to admit (mostly to myself) that I officially have an outie.  It makes me so sad because this didn’t happen with Lucas.
Wedding rings on or off? on, but probably not for long :(
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy for the most part, but I have noticed a couple crazy mood swings (Sorry everyone!)
Looking forward to:  Crossing off things on our to do list.  Baby boy #2 will be here before we know and we have A LOT to do.  It’s really hard to accomplish stuff in the summer, it’s so busy!

Happy Father's Day

This year, we spent Father's Day driving home from vacation, which was kinda a bummer.  So the Saturday before Lucas gave Ben a present.  His first home-made shirt :)

Happy Father's Day to the best daddy we could ask for in our lives!!!

Grandpa got one too! His was made by Lucas, Sarah, Josh and Samantha!

All of the dad's sporting their new shirts!!

We hope that the weather get's nicer and to spend a day with my dad out on his boat to celebrate with him.  Rain, Rain GO AWAY!

Hale Family Vacation 2015

It has been almost 4 years since I have been to the ocean.  So needless to say, I feel like I was over due.  My sister-in-law decided to get the immeadiate family together and hit the beach this year.  So we packed into 3 cars and made our way down to Hatteras Island, part of the Outerbanks in North Carolina.

We got a 70s style beach house, only a two minute walk to the beach!  It was so nice! This was Lucas' first time he has seen the ocean.  It was such a joy to see his excitement everyday!

Thanks Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Phil, Aunt Cathy, Sarah, Josh, Samantha, Auntie K, Uncle Tim and Uncle Stephen for a fun filled week with lots of amazing memories!
 group shot!
 view from our deck
 Here we come, Ocean!

 first time in the ocean
Hi Mommy! I'm in the ocean.
 family selfie
two peas in a pod :)  Can't wait to add another one to the mix!
This was how Lucas spent most of his time.  Digging in the sand! He thought the biggest sandbox ever was the coolest place to play.

Nap time for this little Angel
 Everyone likes digging!

 twins!

 Story time with grandpa :)

Lighthouse on Hatteras

Lucas' second favorite part of the trip was that he got to take a shower everyday outside! How fun is that?

cousin Sarah did a great job writing her name in the sand.
last day at the beach - byebye beach!

A Couple Weeks Behind....

Life has been super busy in the Hale house lately, like I am sure it is for everyone :)  I have been a little bit of a slacker on my weekly updates.  Whoopsy! I at least got the pictures taken!!

Here are weeks 21-25.  Don't worry - I got to skip week 23 because the doctor moved my due date up 10 days.  We are now looking at October 1st :)  At my ultrasound around week 19, baby boy Hale seemed to be taking after his big brother and growing large.  Of course who knows when he will actually make his debut.....

How far along? 25 weeks
Total weight gain: 12-15 lbs
Maternity clothes? For sure.  Even busted out my new maternity bathing suit (which wasn't as bad as I would have thought) while on vacation last week.
Stretch marks? Can't see any!
Sleep: Ehhh..... Baby Boy likes to move around at night, which is making sleep not as easy.  Not to mention we still haven't turned our AC on (yes, I know we are CRAZY!) so it's pretty hot at night :(
Best moment this week:  VACATION! We were able to spend a week in the Outerbanks with most of Ben's family last week (more to come on that!).  It was such a joy to see the happiness on Lucas' face when he saw the ocean/beach for the first time!
Miss Anything?  Beer :) Summertime beer is my favorite.
Movement: This little guy likes to move! I have been lucky and I think he is sitting a little lower than Lucas, so he is not kicking my directly in the ribs as much!
Food cravings: Nothing in particular this week.
Belly Button in or out? in, but probably not for long :(
Wedding rings on or off? on, but probably not for long :(  Summertime is hard on your body while being pregnant, not sure what I was thinking!
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy :)
Looking forward to:  Getting Lucas into a big boy bed and figuring out what their room is going to look like!
