Making it through the Winter

We had an awesome day in February that we had to take advantage of the sunshine!  So we went to the park that is by our house.  Lucas had some much fun climbing on the jungle gym and swinging.

He even braved the tall slide (with some help from daddy!)
Little man loves reading.  He is becoming more and more independent everyday.  He now occasionally likes to read by himself.
So much fun to play in a box!
We got hit with quite a bit of snow in February.  I didn't think Lucas was going to get to play in the snow this Winter, but Mother Nature had other plans.
First time sledding! We went to Keehner Park and had a blast! This guy loves the white snow.

Eating an avocado is so much more fun when you can eat it straight from the skin.
Mommy's favorite Target buddy!  Don't worry - it's not coffee!

Happy Valentine's Day

This year, I decided to make my own Valentine's Day studio!  All I needed was a white sheet, construction paper hearts, my new DIY white board and one cute toddler!

I draped the sheet over our entertainment center and decorated it.

Here's the winning photo that was sent to everyone!  Happy Valentine's Day from Lucas :)

DIY Cute White Board

So I have been really wanting a white board to put up in our office, but I didn't want something ugly.  So I went on a search to find a prettier version.  Needless to say I was unsuccessful.  Well the other day, I noticed that I have this picture frame that I still haven't hung up (so clearly it's never going to happen) and it hit.  I will just make my own!

The old picture frame

I went to Lowes and bought a piece of white board to put in it.  Click here to see what I bought. I came home, measured it out and asked my husband to cut it for me! I put in in the frame in place of the glass and there you go - a new white board!

It was a productive Wednesday :)

A day with Gram and Gramps

Ben's grandparents moved from Florida to Louisville recently, which makes visiting soooo much easier!  So yesterday we went for a little day trip to visit them. We got there at lunch time so we went to one of my favorite places, Raising Canes.  All they serve is chicken fingers, crinkle fries, coleslaw and Texas toast!! Yummy!!!
Lucas loved dipping everything into the sauce, including his fingers.

Back at Gram and Gramps Lucas found that their clock chimed every 15 minutes.
Playing animals and looking at old greeting cards with Gram.
It was a little chilly, but we bundled up and took a walk around their building. There was a pond at the back to see some ducks!

High five time for Gramps!
Reading his bedtime book with Gram before we hit the road back home.

We are so happy that they are closer now and will get to know our crazy little boy!

It's A Jammie Kind Of Day

Today is a Wednsday, which means it's one of my favorite days of the week, I get to stay home with my little man today! I set up his tee-pee that my grandma made him for Christmas. It was his own personal fort!!

And no day is complete until you walk around in Mommy's shoes!

Sad Day for Colts Fans

Last weekend we watched the last Colts game of the season 😕. It's going to be a long wait to cheer for the again, in September.

This pretty much sums up how we feel about the CHEATING Patriots!

Just Like Daddy

Lucas loves doing everything his daddy does these days.  A couple months ago, Ben was hanging pictures on our wall and Lucas wanted to help.  He even went and found this plastic hammer and started hammering the walls right below where Ben was hammering.  We thought it was so cute, until we noticed he was actually leaving marks on the wall!   So for Christmas this year, along with his Tonka truck, we got him his own tool workbench!  We finally set it up yesterday!
