First Time "Camping"

Last night, Ben and Lucas camped out back in our yard!  Lucas helped his daddy set up the tent, collect firewood, we had a campfire, made s'mores and the little guy slept in the tent with daddy ALL NIGHT! I'm not going to lie, I thought that they would come in at some point in the night and sleep in the beds.  But they were both troopers and made it all night.  Both boys had a great time.  I think we for sure have a future boy scout on our hands.
This boy LOVES helping daddy with EVERYTHING!  It's so cute to watch him get so excited to do whatever Ben is doing.

 Testing out the tent!

 Time for firewood.

Marshmallow time.  Lucas did a great job staying away from the fire.
S'mores were a hit!  Sadly, he takes after me though and eats them super messy :)  Oh well, they are delicious!

 Family "camping" selfie.
Every camp out needs musical entertainment.
It's dark out - better get to the tent.
 Saying "goodnight Mommy!"

Waking up as a happy boy!
They made it all night! So proud of my little campers.

29 & 30

How far along? 30 weeks
Total weight gain: 20 according to the doctor
Maternity clothes? They are pretty much all I wear.
Stretch marks? I think I am imagining them sometimes.  But I am sure some will sneak up on me and I will see them after the baby is born.
Sleep: Sleeping has gotten really uncomfortable.  I wake up many times during the night whether it's from some random stretching pain or because I have to pee :(
Best moment this week: Ben and his siblings planned a really nice surprise party for their mom's 60th birthday.  We ended having great weather and I think that everyone had a really great time.  Also, for my work, we had an offsite leaders meeting where we got to go canoeing.  That was a lot of fun!
Miss Anything? Nothing crazy this week.
Movement: ALL the time.  He seems to be a very strong little guy already.
Food cravings: Nothing in particular this week.
Belly Button in or out? Oh it's out there, well at least on one side...
Wedding rings on or off? I still wear my wedding band because it's just a little bit bigger than my engagement ring.  But I am too nervous to wear my engagement ring because I don't think I could get it off!
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy for the most part, but I have noticed a couple crazy mood swings (Sorry everyone!)
Looking forward to:  We are headed out to the lake today with my family.  I am sure it will be a good time with Lucas' first time on a boat!

Summer Days

When I get to have a day off during the week I try to do something fun with Lucas.  A couple weeks ago we met up with my friend Lindsay and her son Everett who is  months younger than Lucas.  Both Lucas and Everett will be big brothers in September and October!  We went to the Mason library story time program.  It was perfect for their age.  There was some reading, music and at the end - bubbles!!

We went to Chick-a-fila for lunch afterward and the boys got to climb around in the play area because no one else was there!
This water table might have been my best investment this summer! Lucas can entertain himself by dumping cups of water in and out and everywhere else for hours!  It's a nice way for me to get to just sit on the deck and relax while watching him :)

Auntie K sent these pictures from when she was watching him the other day.  She blew the pool up for him and they had a blast.  He is definitely our little fish baby!

Back home with Mommy.  A day in the front yard pool and time for some bubbles.  My friend bought Lucas a bubble toy at the end of last year that I totally forgot about.  But when I got it out, the first thing he said was "Auntie Emmy give this to Lucas?"  His memory AMAZES me!

Happy 4th of July

We spent the 4th of July with the Hale side of the family.  Ben's Aunt Roseanna and Uncle Robert invited everyone over for some dinner and to watch the fireworks.  It was really nice since we haven't seen them in a long time.  Ben's Aunt Deb even got to come up from Louisville and brought Ben's grandparents too!  It was the first time we were able to celebrate the 4th with them :)

The boys sure do love playing with their Uncle Robert!
Poor Uncle Robert got quite the workout playing with Sarah, Josh and Lucas all night!  But they sure had fun.

Time for some sparklers and fireworks!
Lucas' first time with a sparkler.  I of course was a nervous Nelly, but he handled it very well. No one got burnt :)

Perfect view of the Fairfield fireworks right from their front yard, how perfect :)
Happy 4th of July to all of our friends and family from the Hales!

THIRD TRIMESTER!

Per my new usual, I am once again behind.  Everyone told me that it would be a lot harder the second time around but for some reason I didn't believe them.  I do however have a strong passion for keeping committed to baby #2!

 Love note from Big Brother!
 Happy 4th of July!!

It's hard to believe that my third trimester is here already.  It really does seem like yesterday that Ben and I were even talking about the thought of having another baby and now in 12 short weeks we will officially be a family of 4! I can't wait to have another little baby around, but right now I can't help but feel like I'm abandoning Lucas.  I find myself rocking him to sleep more than he really needs just so I can cherish the time with him.  I know in my heart that he will love having a little brother (at least one day!) but I just don't ever want him to be sad that he has to share his mommy and daddy.

How far along? 28 weeks
Total weight gain: 20ish
Maternity clothes? They are pretty much all I wear.
Stretch marks? I think I am imagining them sometimes.  But I am sure some will sneak up on me and I will see them after the baby is born.
Sleep: I WANT to sleep all the time, but my body doesn’t always seem to get the memo.  Plus overnight bathroom breaks are starting up.
Best moment this week:  Entering the 3rd trimester! 2 down, 1 to go!  We got to spend the 4th of July with Ben’s family too which was a nice treat.
Miss Anything? Nothing crazy this week.
Movement: ALL the time.  He seems to be a very strong little guy already.
Food cravings: Nothing in particular this week.
Belly Button in or out? I think I need to admit (mostly to myself) that I officially have an outie.  It makes me so sad because this didn’t happen with Lucas.
Wedding rings on or off? on, but probably not for long :(
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy for the most part, but I have noticed a couple crazy mood swings (Sorry everyone!)
Looking forward to:  Crossing off things on our to do list.  Baby boy #2 will be here before we know and we have A LOT to do.  It’s really hard to accomplish stuff in the summer, it’s so busy!

Happy Father's Day

This year, we spent Father's Day driving home from vacation, which was kinda a bummer.  So the Saturday before Lucas gave Ben a present.  His first home-made shirt :)

Happy Father's Day to the best daddy we could ask for in our lives!!!

Grandpa got one too! His was made by Lucas, Sarah, Josh and Samantha!

All of the dad's sporting their new shirts!!

We hope that the weather get's nicer and to spend a day with my dad out on his boat to celebrate with him.  Rain, Rain GO AWAY!
